This training will introduce the participant to the basics of manual handling.
Furthermore, this training demonstrates the risks and potential injuries associated with manual handling, but it will also provide the participant with the knowledge on how to practice safe manual handling.
The aim of this module is to encourage the correct techniques regarding ‘manual handling’ and ergonomic behavior.
It also aims to encourage participants to use alternative techniques to reduce the load on the body.

At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Identify the factors involved in the assessment and control of the risks associated with manual handling.
- Assess whether manual handling can be avoided.
- Determine whether a preliminary or detailed risk assessment of manual handling activities is required.
- Undertake the risk assessment.
- Identify and implement measures to minimise and control risk.
